GAEA Innovation Bootcamp Inspired and Empowered Women to Thrive in Agribusiness

The GAEA Innovation Bootcamp, held from March 18-20, 2025, at the Czech University of Life Sciences, brought together over 75 participants from across Europe for a transformative and impactful event. As part of the EU-funded GAEA Project, the Bootcamp was designed to empower young women in agribusiness, agri-food, and agritourism, offering a unique blend of expert-led workshops, cutting-edge digital tools, and valuable networking opportunities.

Hands-on Learning for Sustainable Agribusiness

Throughout the Bootcamp, participants explored critical aspects of agribusiness development through a series of interactive sessions. They worked hands-on with the Business Model Canvas, developing sustainable and innovative business strategies that could be applied directly to the agribusiness sector.

In addition, the Design Thinking for Sustainable Farming workshop encouraged creative problem-solving and the use of SWOT analysis, empowering participants to generate actionable solutions to pressing industry challenges. They also gained valuable insights into EU agricultural policies, enhancing their understanding of the regulatory landscape, sustainability initiatives, and funding opportunities available to women-led agribusinesses.

Inspiring Stories & Entrepreneurial Insights

One of the most inspiring and motivating moments of the Bootcamp came when participants shared their personal journeys, challenges, and successes in agribusiness. Through inspiring speeches and discussions, attendees showcased their projects and expertise, fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and new ideas. This exchange of experiences encouraged mutual support and helped strengthen the community of women working in the agribusiness sector.

A standout session was the Czech Agri Entrepreneurs Showcase, where local agricultural innovators shared their business models, industry insights, and personal experiences. This session highlighted the real-world challenges and opportunities within the Czech agri-food sector, with entrepreneurs presenting their unique approaches to sustainability, digitalization, and agritourism. The session offered participants valuable lessons on overcoming market challenges, scaling agribusiness ventures, and applying innovative solutions in a rapidly evolving industry.

In addition to the workshops and discussions, attendees had the opportunity to visit Prague’s agricultural research hubs. There, they connected with local entrepreneurs and gained firsthand insights into sustainable business models, diverse agricultural methods, and emerging technologies in the agrifood sector. These visits provided participants with practical exposure to the cutting-edge tools and techniques driving innovation in agriculture.
